About Us

The Association of Beekeepers–Liberia (ABEL) is a nonprofit, non-political organization established to promote sustainable beekeeping as a means of livelihood, food security, and environmental conservation. We bring together Liberian beekeepers—men, women, and youth—from all regions to share knowledge, receive training, access tools, and connect to markets. Founded by a passionate group of local beekeepers, ABL has grown into a national movement transforming communities through the power of bees. Our work strengthens the local honey industry while protecting vital pollinator populations across Liberia.

  • Provide training and certification in modern beekeeping
  • Support hive setup, management, and honey processing
  • Link beekeepers to national and regional markets
  • Advocate for pollinator protection and agroecology
  • Empower women and youth through bee-based enterprises
